Goji Berries, Lycium Fruit, Frustus Lycii Chinensis, Wolfberry Fruit, Guo Qi Zi

Worldwide goji berries are used for thousands of years already, because of their healing properties. In Chinese medicine they are called lycium fruit, one of the most often used herbs. They nourish the kidney and the liver, are good for energy, blood, water metabolism, low-grade abdominal pain, impotence and especially good for the eyes.

In the book "Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine" Gabriel Cousens tells about goji berries: “Clinical analysis shows that this unusual berry is a powerful antioxidant that contains eighteen kinds of amino acids (six times higher than bee pollen), more beta carotene than carrots, and five hundred times the amount of vitamin C by weight than oranges. It’s loaded with vitamins B1, B2, B6, and E. It has been found effective in increasing white blood cells, protecting liver function, lowering cholesterol, relieving hyper-tension, and helping strengthen the immune system while building muscle tissue and burning body fat. Goji berries are known for enhancing longevity.”

Goji berries are one of the superfoods, that I use on a daily basis.
They taste great with raw chocolate and agave nectar.
