David Wolfe speaks about the role of minerals for detoxification. You need to have enough minerals in our body to be able to detoxify. The main role of for instance calcium, magnesium or oxygen in our body is to detoxify. Many people are so low in minerals, that they can’t detoxify, although they are very toxic. Europe is waking up! And time for stinging nettle juice ...

Today has been as busy day for Raw Food Netherlands (our Dutch raw food department).
The main Dutch newspaper “de Telegraaf” interviewed me last Friday.
The article was published today. Almost a whole page on raw food!
This meant thousands of readers on my Dutch blog today, lots of email and the phone ringing all day.
Today the main newspaper from Belgium “Het Nieuwsblad” interviewed me as well.
This interview will be published tomorrow.
And for a change, tonight I was interviewed again about raw food.
Europe is waking up. People become interested in raw food.

I had hardly any time to eat my raw food, talking about it all the time.
But … I made a fantastic raw chocolate smoothie, great under these circumstances.
It is easy and fast to make and very nourishing. Enough food for hours.

And tonight, not having had much time for shopping, I made the best stinging nettle combination
so far: half stinging nettle, half cucumber.
Try it! You’ll be surprised. It tastes good.
If you think, that it’s too strong, use more cucumber and less stinging nettle.
This smoothie is very alkaline, nourishing and gives instant energy, exactly what I needed.
And ... it is almost free, as are the best things in life ;-)

What is the best raw food diet? What percentage should be raw?

Kevin Gianni posted a great video on RenegadeHealth.com.
What percentage of your diet should be raw to call yourself a raw foodie?

My question: Why call yourself a raw foodie?
What is this whole discussion about?
Everybody is different. For one person it is healthy to eat 100% raw, for another not.

And what is a raw food diet anyway? Is there a definition?
Even if you do eat 100% raw, there can be such a big difference between one person and the other. Do you eat raw fish, dairy or eggs? Do you eat superfoods? Do you eat edible weeds? Do you eat seaweed? And what is best? Is there an answer? Do you want to be categorized according to the food you eat?

I love the video that I put on the blog yesterday with Yogiraj Siddhanath.
People are so involved in diet, that they forget the main goal: samadhi or enlighterment.
This is the main goal, not the diet.

It is not important how much raw food we eat.
It is important, that we feel great and that you are happy.
A raw food diet will certainly help you is this, don't understand me wrong, but is not your ultimate goal.
For one person 100% raw is best, for another 75% raw.

Raw food is not the goal, it is a means to an end ….. and Kevin understands ;-)

All the great philosophers knew that a vegan or vegetarian diet is better for our health, emotional wellbeing, mind and spirit. Why don't we all follow the greatest thinkers of history and stop killing and eating living creatures? There is more than enough plant food for all the people on earth.

Most of the suffering on earth will disappear immediately if everybody starts to eat plant food. Everybody will have enough food and animals are no longer badly treated. A person who can kill an animal, can kill another human being. A vegetarian or vegan person simply can't. All war would be over!

The China Study - Animal protein (meat and dairy) causes cancer

Watch this very interesting video (of which you will find the link below), in which Professor T. Colin Campbell PhD talks about the China Study and his research about the effect of animal protein - meat and dairy - on cancer.

Celebrated Cornell professor T. Colin Campbell discusses his decades of NIH-funded research which show that meat and dairy promote cancer growth and a plant-based (vegan) diet can prevent and even reverse cancer. Covers the Oxford-Cornell-China Study which the New York Times called "the Grand Prix of epidemiological studies."

Summary of the China study

Casein (the protein found in all dairy) is the most significant carcinogen we consume. Our intake should never be more than 10 % of our total daily food intake. By changing the amount of protein in your diet, you can turn on and off cancer growth. Animal protein has a much bigger impact than animal fats.
Dairy consumption is the biggest predictor of for instance prostate cancer.

Plant-based foods are healthier than animal-based foods. All this scientific information is available. Why don’t we hear about it? Who is controlling the agenda? Not the big companies, who pay for only about 5% of all the research. No, the government, who decides what research to spend its money on.

I hope you will watch the video (although it takes 50 minutes). Watching this information can help you to prevent serious diseases. And if you are seriously ill, it might help you ....

Question: Is it healthy to eat raw goat's milk or cow's milk, fermented with kefir?

Brian Clements answer:
The number one cause of cancer is casein from cow’s milk. Read the China study by doctor Campbell (and watch the other video that I will post on the blog today).
Fermented fat is even worse, it is a carcinogen. It oxidizes and is no longer able to communicate with other cells.
The only time when we ever suggest to use goat's milk is in the desperate situation, when a mother can’t give breast milk to her child and only up to the age of two years old.

Victoria Boutenko on green smoothies, greens in your raw food diet

Green smoothies are a combination of fruits and greens blended together. Green smoothies taste delicious and are very healthy.

The Boutenko family cured themselves from various diseases by changing to a raw food diet. The members of their family had a variety of diseases: a congenital heart defect, thyroid problems, arthritis, diabetes and asthma. Within a matter of months the family started experiencing profound improvement in their health and vitality. The Boutenko children experienced remarkable improvement in their results at school.

The cacao bean is one of the richest foods in the world, extremely rich in magnesium, iron and bromium. What are the greatest deficits we have in our modern society? Magnesium, iron and bromium?
Cacao can be useful to build bones, not because it is rich in calcium, but because it is rich in magnesium and silicon. These are the minerals we need to build bones. A chicken can make egg shells from silicon, not from calcium.
If you make tea from raw cacao and horsetail (rich in silicon) you have a great drink to regenerate bones and to prevent osteoporosis.

Vegetable juice from lettuce-celery-tomato-pakchoi-dandelion

This mixed vegetable juice is made from fresh (spring) greens and tomato. It is cleansing, mineralizing and good to balance blood sugar. It is great to get new energy in spring and get rid of waste products and therefore especially good against fatigue.

Serves 1

Ingredients:
1/4 head lettuce
2 stalks celery
1 big tomato
3 big leaves pak choi
leaves of a dandelion

Put all ingredients in your juicer and juice.
It is best to roll the dandelion inside the other bigger leaves. Otherwise they disappear in your juicer without giving much juice.
Drink the juice right away. Otherwise it will oxidize and lose many of its nutrients.

Taste spring and feel the energy!

Raspberry-banana-hempseed smoothie; raw food breakfast recipe

This smoothie is great for breakfast or if you get hungry in between meals.
It is also a good food for kids.

Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
2 handfuls raspberries
1 tablespoon shelled hemp seed
½ cup water

Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
Pour in a nice glass and enjoy!

The hemp seed is rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
Adding hemp seed gives this smoothie a rich flavor and helps to slow down the absorption of the fruit sugars. This creates a more stable blood sugar and a long lasting energy.

What is Orthorexia?


It’s great to eat healthy food, and most of us could benefit by paying a little more attention to what we eat. However, some people have the opposite problem: they take the concept of healthy eating to such an extreme that it becomes an obsession. I call this state of mind orthorexia nervosa: literally, "fixation on righteous eating."

Such people are sometimes affectionately called "healthfood junkies." However, in some cases, orthorexia goes beyond a mere lifestyle choice. Obsession with healthy food can progress to the point where it crowds out other activities and interests, impairs relationships, and even becomes physically dangerous. When this happens, orthorexia takes on the dimensions of a true eating disorder, like anorexia nervosa or bulimia.

Do you wish that occasionally you could just eat, and not think about whether it’s good for you? Has your diet made you socially isolated? Is it impossible to imagine going through a whole day without paying attention to your diet, and just living and loving? Does it sound beyond your ability to eat a meal prepared with love by your mother – one single meal – and not try to control what she serves you? Do you have trouble remembering that love, and joy, and play and creativity are more important than food? Have you gotten your weight so low that people think you may have anorexia?

If you recognize yourself in these questions, you might have orthorexia.

Here is a raw tomatilla salsa recipe with avocado. As you can see this video recipe is a little different from the one below. You can vary and create your own favorite raw tomatilla salsa recipe.

Raw tomato salsa recipe - raw food video recipe



This a very easy and fast raw food recipe for tomato salsa.
You can make it more or less spicy by varying the amount of (datil) pepper.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup organic tomatoes
1/2 shallot, sliced up
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1 datil (or another kind of) pepper, diced
juice of 1/2 lime
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
freshly cracked black pepper
a good pinch of salt

Blend the tomatoes (little pieces still visible) in your food processor or blender.
Mix all ingredients together in a nice looking bowl. Eat the salsa with celery sticks, pieces of cucumber, on sprouted bread or dehydrated crackers.

Raw vegan yoghurt from seeds and nuts, video with Rhio

Do you miss yoghurt in your raw vegan diet?
Here is the good news! You can make your own yoghurt from any kind of nut or seed. You can use almonds, macadamia nuts, walnuts, cashews, pine nuts, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.
It is possible to use a yoghurt or kefir culture as a starter, but this is not really necessary, since the bacteria you need are all around you in the air.
It is important to soak the nuts overnight in filtered water at room temperature.

Ingredients for almond yoghurt:
2 cups peeled almonds
10 ounces water

Some nuts need more and some need less water. You will find out.
Blend the nuts and water until you get a creamy substance.
Squeeze the liquid out through a nut milk bag or cheese cloth.
In the meantime put the salsa on, move in the rhythm and have a great time ;-)
Pour the liquid in a jar and cover with a breathable cloth.
Let it sit for 8 to 12 hours in the warmest place in your kitchen.

Eat this delicious yoghurt with blue berries, figs, soaked goji berries, strawberries or any other fruit that is in season.
By the way, did you know, that you can eat the tops of strawberries? They are rich in chlorophyll and great to add for color.
This yoghurt makes a great breakfast, snack or light lunch.

It is healthy and contains the friendly bacteria so necessary for good intestinal health.

Homemade guacamole, a fast and easy raw food recipe

This raw food recipe for guacamole is fast and easy and you don't need any special equipment.
It is ready in minutes and everybody loves it.

Ingredients:
3 avocado's
1 lime
1/2 medium onion
1 medium tomato
3/4 cerano chili (or less if you prefer)
salt and pepper to taste

You can eat the guacamole with dehydrated crackers or use it as a dip for raw broccoli rosettes, carrots, radishes, celery or cucumber.
It is also great as a filling for wraps, sushi or nori rolls.

Gabriel Cousens on juice fasting at the Tree of Life in Israel

Codex alimentarius: food lies "They" don't want you to know

He who owns the food, controls the world.

"The Codex will make what they did in WOII look like kids stuff. According to the World Health Organization 2 billion people will die if it is fully employed: December 31, 2009. "They" are eroding your rights away - one by one - while you're asleep."

"Let's get to the most important question anyone has asked me tonight. About the coming of the codex bill: I will give it you as briefly as I can.

As we know, there are 177 countries in the world that are part of the World Trade. You happen to live in one. I live in one.

Nazi History


Let us get back to World War II. There was a gentleman who ran the pharmaceutical industries in Germany. He produced [the gas used in gas chambers, the steel for the death camps and the] rail roads lines. He also produced pharmaceuticals.

After the war, they put him into jail. Of course he had enough money to get out quickly. At that point, they should have shot him through the head, and I'm a pacifist. I would have shot him through the head. Bottom line is, they let him out of jail seven years later.

UN Fooled

He went back to his cohorts. They looked back at the 1800s and some control issues they had back than with incorporating codex rules in America. They then went to the newly formed organization at that point, the United Nations and completely bamboozled them. They fooled them.

They told them: "We are good guys now. We're no longer Nazis. We want to help you so that people won't starve. And we'll make sure everybody gets good medicine." This started in the 1950s. There wasn't much activity then, because they couldn't unify the world. Not until the 80s and 90s. This is when we joined together and said: "We'll have a world organization that we call World Trade."

Capitalistic Scam

This was one big capitalistic scam. Nothing is wrong with capitalism. But if we do it this way, something is very wrong. They have a plan that says. Listen closely. By December 31, 2009, all the 177 countries will be harmonized. Isn't that a nice word? We will be harmonized. Next year.

The harmony that they are talking about, you can check by calling the World Health Organization, a wing of the United Nations, and ask for the book. I've read it. I'll tell you what the book says.

Killing Organic Foods

There'll be no longer organic [food] standards in countries. The World Health Organization - and the Nazis - will literally control organic food. These foods will be irradiated, they will be sprayed with pesticides and grown in animal faeces [shit], they will still be sprayed with chemicals and still be called organic.

By the way, as part of that, municipalities and cities world wide in the 177 countries will eventually, but surely control whether or not you can grow your own food. If you grow food in your own house, you'll have to have a permit.

Two Billion People Die

D you think I'm telling bullshit right? Just check me on this. I challenge you to check me. The World Health Organization said that "if the Codex bill is fully employed, two billion people will die."

Because the second thing that they want to do, is to control all medicine. They've already done a very good job in Germany and Norway.

They're right here in your government [Netherlands] working on it, so you know that. You're asleep. But the fact is, they are working your government. They're working on my government [US]. There are five bills now pending.

1st Test Case


The first test case they put in America, in California, they can no longer ship raw almonds out of the state to any 50 states. They wanted to see if Americans would stand up and rite, if they would protest. But we didn't, because we just watch TV. Eat protein bars. Listen closely.

"They" Want To Wipe These Bastards Out

Who are will be the 2 billion to die? It will not be white folks spending the money, I can tell you that. These will be the black folks, down in Africa, the natives in South America. Because they want to wipe these bastards out. They're not spending a cent. Sounds pretty hard, doesn't it? Factual statement: They want to wipe does bastards out, they're not spending a penny.

How They Control The World

And they want to uniform you. They want to take total control. As they have already taken in Ireland last year. They took the goji berries that were organic out of the market. I worked with the former minister of health when he was banning smoking in Ireland.

He was a great man. He was literally fighting them at that point. "They keep coming in from the EU, telling me what to do. Essential herbs they took of too. [If the Nazis don't get money from this, they will take it of the market. In a few years, you can only buy food that comes directly or indirectly from them.] "

They Take Your Health Rights Away

Europe, you're far ahead of us in this. They're eroding your rights away - one by one - while you're asleep.

In America, the good thing is the presidential election. There was one guy, who's a doctor by the way, called Ron Paul. He's the only conservative I ever voted for in my life.

Because, he tolds the truth. He said: "the most damaging thing right now is the coming of the codex alimentarius.

Codex Most Controversial

The number one thing that I'll do if I become president, is to stop the Codex bill." He got it. He's a doctor. He was like: "What do you mean? These people don't make enough money? They've got to take on health foods? And almonds? They got to take total control?"

They already control the supplement industry. And I once again remind you to check every word I say. December 31, 2009, is the date when the codex will be fully employed in your country

They will slowly but surely, as you are sleeping, take away more and more rights from you.

Place a phone call to the World Health Organization and ask them what the Codex bill means. They'll will tell you: "2 billion people will die". That's a scientific fact.

Do you think the Nazis did a good job in the Second World War? I'll tell you: This will make what they did in the WOII look like kids stuff.

WOII Look Kids Stuff

That is all I can tell you. If you think that's an over statement, you better think of what you're against up this time. Then, we were talking about a few million people that died. Now we're talking about your health, your life and 2 billions of people. The first people to go are not the white folks. Those are the poor people down in the poor countries.

Become conscious. How do you do that? Not by yelling to people, not by becoming politically. Change your life. Do what Gandhi said.
