Gabriel Cousens M.D. in “Simply raw: reversing diabetes in 30 days”

The top 3 factors which contribute to diabetes are:
- Foods which convert to sugar. Twenty years after you introduce white sugar or white flour into a society, you get an outbreak of diabetes. Fructose is the worst. White flour contains oxalic acid which is a poison to the beta cells of the pancreas. Wheat can increase insulin resistance.
- Animal fats from (cooked) animal food like meat and dairy.
- Toxins, like herbicides, pesticides and heavy metals have their effects as well. Mercury poisons the beta cells of the pancreas and deactivates insulin. Fluorine causes insulin resistance. Cadmium affects the kidneys and causes insulin resistance. Lead causes insulin resistance. Arsenic causes hormonal disruptions which also causes insulin resistance.

Other factors which contribute to insulin resistance are smoking and caffeine. Each of them increases insulin resistance with 30%.

Through juice fasting Gabriel Cousens learned that you can turn on and off the diabetic switch. Once you have a normal blood sugar level through juice fasting on green juice and a live-food diet, you have to keep the blood sugar down for a longer time to give the organs a chance to cure. The diet that Gabriel Cousens recommend is organic, vegan, 80% live food.
Exercise and losing weight are also very important factors to cure type 2 diabetes.

Alzheimer is associated with diabetes. Curing the diabetes will also help to clear up the confused mental state that some diabetes patients are in. By curing diabetes you can also prevent and cure the terrible side effects of diabetes, like neuropathy and impotence.

Gabriel Cousens and Neal Barnard cure diabetes with a (raw) vegan diet

Diabetes is one of the main heath concerns in our modern society. In countries where people eat hardly any meat, sugar and white flour, there is no diabetes.

Neal Barnard M.D. and Gabriel Cousens M.D. cure diabetes with a vegan diet. Neal Barnard with mainly cooked food, Gabriel Cousens with mainly raw food. They both have success: their patients loose excess weight, their bloodsugar turns normal, as well as their cholesterol and blood pressure.

Gabriel Cousens even cured a patient with type 1 diabetes, who paticipated by accident in his program. This patient was totally cured and doesn't use insulin anymore.

Watch this video with Gabriel Cousens if you don't like vegetables

Gabriel Cousens discusses the effect of bloodsugar on your brain and thinking.
Don't eat sugar, it makes your thinking chaotic. Eat a lot of green vegetables instead.

But what if you don't like vegetables?
Most people are guided by their taste, which is in the mind.
It's not about taste, but about results. If you eat vegetables you become stronger, smarter, clearer and you will understand society better. This is what counts.

So if you don't like vegetables ... learn to enjoy them because they make you healthier, more aware and brighter!

Popping popcorn kernels by the radiation of your cell phone

Yes, the radiation of your cell phone is very bad for you. Children under 16 who use their cell phone up to one hour a day have 37 times more chance to get brain cancer in their twenties.
But would this be possible??? This video is made by a manufacturer of blue tooth headsets. Great video. I hope my brains don't pop out, since I don't have their headset yet.

Sun gazing, Hira Ratan Manek on the healing power of the sun

Hira Ratan Manek (HRM) teaches sun gazing, how we can live on just the energy of sunlight and water. He has eaten solid food just five to seven times in the last 10 years. He once fasted under 24-hour medical supervision for more than 200 consecutive days.

Sun gazing is an ancient practice found in all cultures. It activates the dormant human brain. The infinite resources within us get activated. Save sunlight reaches the brain through the eyes and the brain's effectiveness is raised. The practitioner cures all his problems and gets total health for mind, body and spirit.

If you want to start sun gazing, study it carefully. If the sunlight is too bright you might damage your eyes. The save hours are the first hour after sunrise en the last hour before sunset.

Watch the website www.SolarHealing.com for more information on sun gazing.

Raw foodie Jason Mraz promotes "We sing, we dance, we steal things"

Raw foodie Jason Mraz promotes his new album "We sing, we dance, we steal things", which came out today. Jason wrote this new album at his avocado farm in the San Francisco area.

Except for being an artist, Jason is a raw foodie. For this interview he brought a fantastic guacamole and chocemole (a raw chocolate mousse) to the studio. The main ingredient of both dishes is of course …. avocado. They look delicious.

Jason Mraz latest single became a hit before he even released it. Listen to the single “I’m yours”.

Mraz's Chocomole Recipe:

Note: This will make a huge bowl big enough for a family of four.
You'll want to share this with friends.

Mash up 5 ripened avocados
Add 1 - 2 cups of chopped or blended dates
1 soft cup of raw cacao
1 easy cup of raw carob powder
1 tbsp. vanilla
Add a few long pours of agave nectar to sweeten to liking
Then add half cups of cocoa and keep adding until chocolate taste is right.
Careful not to overdo it -- if you add too much, it can get bitter.

Alkaline water with a low ORP - Watch this almond test!

Which water is the most pervasive, alkaline water with a low ORP, alkaline water with a high ORP or acid water with a high ORP?

Let me first explain pH and ORP.

pH comes from French, and means "per Hydrogen", which is a measure of the amount of Hydrogen in a liquid. Why is this so important? Hydrogen is our most essential nutrient. Hydrogen provides our life force! And pH equals amount of hydrogen in liquid, so it's a measure of available life force in a liquid.
We can measure pH using litmus paper or an electronic pH meter. It will give us a reading of from 0 to 14, with pH 7 being neutral; neither acid nor alkaline. A pH lower than seven is acid, a pH above 7 is alkaline.

ORP means the O = Oxidizing or R = reducing or donating Potential of a liquid.
Oxidizing means the ability to oxidize, to burn up, to rust, to take away energy from the body.
Reducing means the opposite: to give or donate. If a liquid has 'reducing potential' it has the ability to donate energy to the body.
The ORP meter actually measures the electrical charge of the water and if it reads above zero, it's oxidizing (acidic and an ionic 'robber'). If the voltage is negative it's reducing (alkaline and a giver)!

Our body functions best if we drink water with a high pH (much life force) and a low ORP (giving energy). This video illustrates this scientific information very well.

The alkaline water with a low ORP is by far the most pervasive when soaking almonds in it. If this is true for the almonds, it must be true for our body. Our body can take up the most water and the most energy from the water, if it is alkaline with a low ORP.

How do you get alkaline water with a low ORP?
There are special water systems available, to make this water in own your kitchen
In the Netherlands they are for sale at Company4You.nl.

David Wolfe on seaweeds: kelp, nori, dulse, hiziki, arame, sea lettuce

This video is part of the interview, that Esmé and I from Raw Food Europe had with David Wolfe last September.
I asked David about minerals. Many people who live on a raw food diet or standard Western diet lack minerals.
What can you do to get more minerals in your diet?

Seaweeds are a very important source of minerals in the raw food diet. There are many edible seaweeds, like kelp, nori, dulse, hiziki, wakame, arame and sea lettuce. If you have never eaten them, try nori or dulse. Most people like them, even kids.

Joel Fuhrman M.D. - Nutrient density is the key to good health

In this video Joel Fuhrman speaks about the nutrient density of foods.
I think this is a very interesting concept. It clarifies a lot of things.
Why do so many vegans look grey and pale? Why are so many rawfoodies too thin?
What should you eat, if you don’t want to eat 100% raw?
These are questions I get all the time. Here is the answer!

Portion sized diets don’t work. We have to desire smaller portions. To do that we have to eat high nutrient, high volume foods. High volume foods are raw vegetables, fresh fruits, cooked greens and non-green vegetables.
You should know the nutrient density of foods. The food that is highest in nutrient density are green vegetables. Kale has the highest number, followed by collards, spinach and bok choi. Fruits and vegetables are all above 100. All the other foods are below.
Most people on a vegan diet get most of their calories from grains, potatoes and oil. That can’t be a healthy diet.

Joel Furhman doesn’t mention the superfoods in this video. Those are also high density foods. That’s why they are called superfoods. Examples are raw cacao, goji berries, maca, wild honey, bee pollen, hemp seed, spirulina, chlorella and green powders (from edible grasses). I also miss the edible weeds, sprouted seeds and seaweeds.
Some of these probably have a nutrient density above 1000 ;-)

A diet of raw vegetables, fresh fruits, edible weeds, sprouted seeds, seaweeds and superfoods is ideal, if you want to eat 100% raw plant based diet. If you want to add some cooked food, add cooked greens and non-green vegetables.

If you use the hyper farming techniques David Wolfe tells about to grow these foods, you have the best diet ever!
